Technique Book

I meet monthly with some awesome demonstrators here in the Bay Area and we decided to make a technique book for all of our friends/customers. Here is the first batch we did. Each person had to create a card with a technique then we all copied that card for our own book. Don't I have some awesomely creative friends??!!??

This card was designed by Katja Pastor. The technique is IMPRESSION EMBOSSING –FAUX METAL TAG. Here are the instructions: Cover a small piece of white cardstock with Versamark Ink. Add silver (or other metallic) embossing powder. Remove excess and heat. Repeat for a total of 3 applications. Quickly, apply Versamark ink to your stamp and press into the hot embossing. Hold for 3 seconds and remove. Use a punch to create a tag from the embossed image. Make a Wire Works jump ring using the Crafters Tool Kit.

This card was designed by Gina Cardera. The technique is Crayon Resist. Here are the instructions: Stamp images on glossy cardstock using Basic Black Classic Ink. With a white crayon, color in areas that you wish to remain white. Sponge or bray classic ink over the images. Use multiple colors or a spectrum pad. After the ink has dried, wipe off the crayon with a tissue.

This card was designed by Pat Zahn. The technique is Faux Suede. Here are the instructions: Choose 3 colors of Craft pads. The colors here are Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel and More Mustard. Completely cover your accent piece with the Close to Cocoa using the direct to paper technique. Let dry. Apply Creamy Caramel randomly using same direct to paper technique. Coverage should be uneven. Let dry. Repeat same step with More Mustard.
This card was designed by Jennifer Wu. The Technique is Baby Wipes. Here are the instructions: Fold a baby wipe into a manageable size. Alternate several colors of reinker drops in a row. Swipe across glossy cardstock. Dry and stamp. This makes a great sunset. Or, dab around for a more splotchy background.
This card was designed by Elizabeth Yow. The technique is Pencil Over Ink. Here are the instructions: Stamp a bold image using craft white (pigment) ink on dark cardstock. Let dry. Color over the image using colored pencils or metallic pencils.
This card was designed by Lanette Irabarra. The Technique is Kissing. Here are the instructions: Ink a background stamp with classic ink. Press a solid type stamp onto the background stamp to pick up the ink and then onto cardstock. You can also press inked stamps onto a background stamp and then stamp either stamp for an interesting effect.
This card was designed by Ana Garcia: The technique is Dirty Stamping. Here are the instructions: Ink an image in a light color of classic ink. Color in a portion of the image with a darker, coordinating Stampin’ Write Marker. Huff stamp to moisten and stamp onto cardstock. Your image will be multicolored.
This card was designed by Debbie Colbacchini. The technique is Spotlighting. Here are the instructions: Stamp the image onto the card and again onto an extra piece of cardstock. Trim the extra piece to a small circle or square to become the spotlight. Color it and mount on a colored cardstock mat. Mount this, lining up with the first stamped image on the card.
This is the card I designed. The technique is Packing Tape/Glitter Window. Here are the instructions: Stamp your image. Bright colors work best. Make sure the image will show through the window you are making. You can use any punch to make this easier. Try to make the window smaller than the width of the packing tape so you don’t have to use 2 strips of tape to cover the window. Place the tape, sticky side out, behind your window. Pour Dazzling Diamonds on the tape. Rub with your finger to make sure the glitter is adhered well. Brush off the excess glitter. Pour back into your bottle. Adhere your stamped image so it shows through your window. Voila! You have a beautiful, sparkly image.

Thank You Note

I was just playing around and trying to make some thank you notes for my son's birthday party. This is the first one I came up with. I think the letters are too big for this card so I will either make the card a little bigger or change the alphabet stamps. I do like the colors though.

Prints Designer Series Paper Frame

Here's my first attempt at covering a frame with out Prints Designer Series Paper. I used Almost Amethyst (the color is a little darker/prettier in person), Rose Red, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. I adhered the paper to the frame with Crystal Effects then generously covered the paper with Crystal Effects to give it a glossy look and to protect the paper. I may add some ribbon and embellishments next time. The picture is of my Dad and my Sister. It's a great picture in person but I guess when I scanned it in it got a bit blurry. This was a VERY EASY project. I got the frame at Ikea for 2 for $5. Can't beat that. Well, maybe the dollar store... :0). Try this technique and you can coordinate all your frames with your entire house.

Class Projects

These are the cards we made at a recent class I taught. I'd be happy to teach you how to make these cards. Just let me know and we can make them at your home or mine. And remember...you don't have to clean the house or prepare a full buffet of food!! The friends you invite (including me) are going to be there to stamp and visit with you, not look at your house and eat all your food!! If you do want a snack, something simple will do just fine!!All supplies are from Stampin' Up! This card uses a retired set, Nice & Narrow, but you can substitute a set you already have or check the new catalog for more images that would work for you. It also uses Sincere Salutations stamp set, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock. Craft White and Bashful Blue Classic pads, Bashful Blue Marker, Detail White Embossing Powder and heat gun; Square Rhinestone Brads in Ice, and Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon.

All supplies are from Stampin' Up! Transparency Cards

These are cards I made at Scrapbook U with Leilani. If you would like to make some of these cards just let me know. It would be a fun class.

Friend Board Book

This is a board book I made at a class at Scrapbook U with Monica. I just love how it turned out. There aren't any pictures in it yet because I need to get some toner for my printer. As soon as I add pictures to the book I will repost. I will be making one of these books using all Stampin' Up! items soon. When that's complete I will post it here. If you would like to join me in making a Stampin' Up! board book just let me know. I'd love to have you join me.

Transparency Ring Book

Here's a project created by Veronica Leggett of Scrapbook U. I missed her class so she sold me the class kit and I took it home and finished it in about an hour. I just love using transparency sheets. I'm so sad they aren't in our new Stampin' Up! catty. But they are easy to find at the office stores!! I just love it. I think my favorite accessory to any stamp project, cards or scrapbook pages, is RIBBON!! I love ribbon and we have so many to choose from in out new catty. Although we have some really great ribbons I still want more. It seems like everytime I visit Michaels, JoAnn's, or Target, I'm looking for ribbon! I hope you like this project and if you do let me know...post a comment or any suggestions.
