Tiny Tag Box

Here's a little box I made to hold gift tags. It's really small with the dimensions being 3" tall x 2 1/8" wide and 7/8" deep. I'll post all the measurements later. I just need to tweak it a little bit more to get it perfect. I just think it would be a cute little gift for someone filled with gift tags. Catch Up Cards

Hi there!!! Yes, I'm back! I really haven't been anywhere but I have been away from the computer for a while. My son got really sick and then got his very first ear infection so I was spending the time taking care of him. Then I got the flu so bad I just stayed in bed for 3 days straight. (except for potty breaks). Then as my son was getting better and taking antibiotics he got sick again!! Can you believe it??!!?? I didn't think you could get more sick while taking antibiotics but that's exactly what happened. So, he's finally feeling better and I'm definitely feeling better so I had some time to stamp. WHEW! I missed my stamps so much. I missed you guys too and I am so sorry for being gone for so long. So, here are some cards I made in the last 2 days. Tropical Card

I just received a new Cricut cartridge I won on Ebay. It's called Accent Essentials and I've never seen it in a store before. I think I'm really going to be using this cartridge quite a bit. So, I needed to make a thank you card and came up with this. I hope you like it!

With Sincere Sympathy

This is a card I made for a friend of my Husband's. Last week his Mother passed away unexpectedly. I have never made a sympathy card. For some reason I just thought it wasn't politically correct to make a sympathy card. Then I was thinking, why not?? This is what I do, this is a part of me, it doesn't get more personal than this. That is why I created my first sympathy card. I feel it shows how much we care about our friend and that he is special enough to us that he deserves a special card. I hope he is doing well and going through this tough time with family and friends to lean on (including us). Happiness & hugs to all of you, my extended blogging family! My son had his very first Baseball Hit A Thon and got quite a few donations so I needed to make some thank you cards for his faithful sponsors. After trying to figure out a few baseball cards I scrapped that idea and came up with this. I just couldn't get the mojo to make a baseball card. I don't know why, it just didn't come to me. Girly Card

I've been playing around with my SU! Chunky Glitter lately so I thought I'd make a card. This card is for my niece Jessica. Although she's a little tomboy she is still very girly. She loves pink and green. She's turning 10 in May and this will be her birthday card. The flower is made with our Sticky Cuts and the Pink & Red Chunky Glitter. The stem and leaves are embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder and just cut out freehand. The letters were cut using my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The Cardstock is Regal Rose and Certainly Celery and the Designer Paper is called Celebrate-Glisten (although it isn't sparkly at all) and is by 3 Bugs in a Rug. I fell in love with this paper the second I saw it at my LSS.

Bracelet Complete

Do you remember the bracelet I made a while back with the Making Memories Brads? Well, I finally got the jewelry findings to complete it. So, here it is again but complete this time. I'm thinking of making this a Mom & Daughter class using our Build a Brad. What do you think? Would you take a class like that? Our Build a Brad kit has enough brads to make 3 of these bracelets. Even more if you have small wrists. There are 24 brads in the kit and the bracelet I made uses 7. What would you pay for a class like this? I would have the girls make one bracelet in class and one card. Then they could take the kit home to create more bracelets or cards or scrapbook pages or whatever. I was thinking these brads would look really cute in those Croc sandals too. Hmmm, I just got some of those. I'll have to try that out. Anyway, here's the bracelet. I used sticky strip on the back to add the findings and the ribbon to finish it off. Oh, and I used some Swarovski Crystals in between the brads too. I bought the BeJeweler at Michael's today so I can finally add some bling to my projects. Have a great weekend and thank you so much for taking time to stop by to see me.

So, here's what I'm supposed to do. I need to tell you 7 random things about myself that you might not know and then tag 7 blogger friends. I hope I get you to laugh.

Here we go:
1. Did you know I am only 5' 4 3/4" tall? Yep, I'm a shortie! Actually the shortest in my family. Everyone else is at least 5' 7" and my brother is 6" 1"!
2. I bet you didn't know I have OCD. Yes, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I have been on medication for it for over 11 years now and the meds really do work. Yes, I have the compulsion to count EVERYTHING! LOL! And on occasion I avoid all cracks in the ground. I am constantly checking the locks on the doors and I am such a neat freak. Actually, the meds are helping so that I am NOT such a neat freak any more.
3. I met my DH while working at Chili's Grill & Bar together over 22 years ago! It was love at first sight for me and he tells me the same thing but I'm not so sure. All the girls there wanted to date him. :0)
4. This one is my favorite...You might already know that I have only 1 son and that he will be 5 this year in July. Well, ever since he was born I feel like it's Christmas EVERY DAY! Every morning he wakes me up and says "Good Morning Mommy, wake up, it's a bright sunny day!" Oh, he is the love of my life!
5. You probably didn't know that it took my DH and I 9 years to finally conceive a baby. Yep, 9 very long years praying for a baby. There was no medical reason for us not to conceive, I guess God just wasn't ready for us to be parents until then. I thank Him daily for the chance to be a Mommy!
6. Here's one you probably don't know. I don't know if you can tell in my picture but I used to have long hair. About to the middle of my back. When my Sister asked me to be in her wedding I told her that I wasn't going to cut my hair until after the wedding so that I could have long curly hair for her wedding. Well, I totally flaked on that promise and cut my hair to my shoulders in a bob. I go through these times when I just want my hair cut. I let it grow for years and then WHACK, off it goes. Then I usually let it grow out again before getting it cut again. I'm not one of those cute girls that has a really cute hair style. I like my hair just simple and straight. Sometimes I'll curl it but mostly I like it flat ironed straight.
7. You might have guessed this one from my last post but I iron everything. Yes, everything. No, not under garments or sheets, but it we're going to be wearing it, it's getting ironed! I learned that from my Mom. She irons everything and we ALWAYS looked neat and clean before we ever left the house.

Play of the Day!

Do you remember those Taco Bell commercials that showed the Taco Bell Play of the Day? That's just how I felt when I did this. This is my Stampin' Up! Play of the day! Here I was just ironing my clothes (my ironing board is in my craft room) and BAM!! It just hit me out of nowhere! Why not roll my lint roller in our Chunky Glitter?? Hmmmm....so, I just sat myself down at my craft desk (which just happened to be semi clean) and tried this out. I DID!! Check this out... Now, if you don't have those sticky letters or shapes we sell, you can use your punches to create what you want. Now, I'm sure the Sticky Cuts have stronger adhesive on them but in a pinch the lint roller will suit me just fine. Now don't go out and buy up all the lint rollers at the stores but I hope you give it a try and send me what you've made!! Happy Stampin', uh I mean glitterin'! Oh, and one more thing. I don't know if this will gunk up your punches so try this at your own risk. I figure if my punches get gunked up I will use fingernail polish remover to clean them just like I do with my scissors.

I first colored the large center flower (from the Pretties Kit) with my classic pads in Only Orange and Summer Sun and let that dry. I tried coloring this flower with the Aquapainter and my Classic Pads but it just wasn't bright enough so I ended up just rubbing the flower directly on the pad for each color starting with the lightest color. Then I punched 2 Scallop flowers from Only Orange card stock with the Scallop Punch, then I used the 5 Petal flower punch for the Green Galore flower layer and finally I used the Boho Blossoms bunch for the Real Red flower. I used Green Galore eyelets from the Bold Brights family and the Fire Rhinestone Brads in Pumpkin Pie. The stamp sets used are Happy Everything and Mark the date (polka dot stamp) The other card stock colors are Real Red and Summer Sun and the background and word ink is Basic Black Classic Pad

Sailboat Trio

Well, while I had this set (Nursery Necessities) out I thought I'd make another card with it. I embossed the sailboats with White Detail Embossing Powder then water colored over them with my Aquapainter and classic ink pads in Brocade Blue, Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue. I hope you like it. Sail On...

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Anna Wight's blog Sassy & Sweet Notes. Sassy & Sweet Notes: Sailing... Now, I don't pretend that I can color as well as Anna but I tried to do what I could to make it look nice. This card wasn't made with anyone in mind but I'm thinking it might be a nice father's day card for my Husband from me. I will have my DS make another one for Dad. This card took me quite a bit longer than I thought it would. I had to try a few techniques with the sailboats before I just left them they way they are. The ribbon is embossed with a Versamark pad and some blue embossing powder I had in my stash. I learned this new technique from reading Linda Heller's blog, Where The Rubber Hits The Road. Now, don't go to her blog unless you want to see and read about some new SU! stuff coming up really soon. She's got some spoilers on her blog from the SU! Cruise. Embossing the ribbon was so very simple. It's just like embossing on paper so there's no extra instructions. I do recommend using the Embossing Buddy since my first ribbon came out very freckled.
