Sail On...

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Anna Wight's blog Sassy & Sweet Notes. Sassy & Sweet Notes: Sailing... Now, I don't pretend that I can color as well as Anna but I tried to do what I could to make it look nice. This card wasn't made with anyone in mind but I'm thinking it might be a nice father's day card for my Husband from me. I will have my DS make another one for Dad. This card took me quite a bit longer than I thought it would. I had to try a few techniques with the sailboats before I just left them they way they are. The ribbon is embossed with a Versamark pad and some blue embossing powder I had in my stash. I learned this new technique from reading Linda Heller's blog, Where The Rubber Hits The Road. Now, don't go to her blog unless you want to see and read about some new SU! stuff coming up really soon. She's got some spoilers on her blog from the SU! Cruise. Embossing the ribbon was so very simple. It's just like embossing on paper so there's no extra instructions. I do recommend using the Embossing Buddy since my first ribbon came out very freckled. Anyway, I hope you get a chance to stamp today and thank you for stopping by to see me!
