RAK for a 90th Birthday

Here's a card I made for a gal on Stampin' Up! with Beate's group. Her Mom is turning 90 on Monday, March 3 and she requested RAK's. She is hoping to get 90 cards to give her Mom! I couldn't pass that up. I don't know too many people that have turned 90 so I totally wanted to try to make her day special. You can see the original request and all the information below the picture. If you have time today it would be a wonderful little gift if you could send a card too. Thanks for stopping by and hug the ones you love!

Supplies are all Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: So Much stamp set

Cardstock: Only Orange, Real Red and Watercolor Paper

Ink: Real Red, Only Orange, Summer Sun and Pink Passion Classic Pads, Whisper White Craft Pad

Accessories: Aquapainter, Love & Happiness Rub Ons (Sale A Bration), Detail White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Yellow Ribbon from my stash, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots to hold ribbon in place.

Original RAK Request:

Hello to all of you rubber stampers out there who regularly do RAKs when they are requested. My mom will be celebrating her 90th birthday on March 3rd. I am still trying to get everyone out there to send her a special handmade card so that I can present her with 90 cards -- total. Since I am counting & hoping for 90 -- I need to hear from you that you will be sending her a card. Mom lives with us & I always get the mail at our curbside mailbox, so mail the cards to her & I will stash them & give them all to her on her big day. Her name & our address (hers & ours) follows.

Thanks for helping to shower mom with 90 special birthday greetings.

Decorated Forget Me Not Keeper

Ok, I totally cased this idea from Card Maker Magazine March 2008 edition. There is a Forget Me Not Keeper decorated by Alicia Thelin of Stampin' Up! on page 46 that I totally love!! It's decorated with orange, red & green flowers & ribbon. I didn't decorate mine exactly like hers but I did steal the idea from her! Thank you so much Alicia! I think these would look totally cute on the shelves of my white bookcases in my stamp room!! But that would take some organizing and I'd rather stamp! LOL!! Alright ladies, call me to get this cute little Forget Me Not Keeper so you can decorate it and keep all your special Forget Me Nots in it! Anyway, here's the picture. Have a wonderful day!

Monthly Demo Meeting Make & Takes

Here are the make & takes we made at our meeting this month. We didn't have a theme this month so that usually makes for some really unique projects. As usual the girls didn't let me down! They are all fabulous artists and I'm so proud to show what they designed. Of course my stamping and assembling could use some work. LOL!! Thank you to my wonderful friends for being so creative and sharing that gift with me. There is one more not pictured here. If you look at the last post you'll see what Pat Zahn designed-a 6x6 layout-too cute!

Last October my Mom, Sis and I went on our second trip looking for my Sister's bridal gown and that was the day we found the absolute perfect dress. My Beautiful Sister

Another scrapbook page completed!! WOO HOO!! This is a picture of my Sis and I at our first bridal show. If you've been following my blog for a while you might remember that my Sis is getting married in August. Occasionally I'll post something having to do with her preparation. This is one of those posts. I just think my Sis looks so beautiful in this picture that I wanted to make sure it was front and center of this layout. She is so happy and I am so happy for her. She is marrying a wonderful man and I am so excited about the whole thing! Oh, and by the way...this page took me 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE!!! Yes, I am the slowest scrapbooker in the world!! I just don't know how some of you can go to an all day crop. I couldn't even begin to know what to bring!!! I would need my whole stamp room. I go from my stamp desk to my computer desk and back and fourth. Not to mention I'm grabbing paper after paper to see how they look, then there's the Cricut. I've got to see if there's an image I might want to use. See what I mean, I'm just all over the place when it comes to scrapbooking. I never know what I'm going to make until it's done. Oakland Regional Swaps

Here are the swaps I made for our Stampin' Up! Oakland Regional Seminar. Now, this is only the second time I've EVER made swaps. The first time was at Leadership and I only had time to make 12 or so. This time I made 60!! Yesserreee, 60! It was so much fun I will never go to another event without swaps again! Anyway, I hope you like them! HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TO SEE ME!

Here's another NEW TOY!

This is the Big Bite Cropadile! I was at my LSS, you know the one, Scrapbook U ::: "The Best Little Store Around" :: Fremont CA! Well, Monica (the owner) just received a shipment (I knew this because I saw the FedEx guy hauling in some boxes!!) of these Big Bites and I just asked her how much they were and she told me the price BUT if I bought the case and all it's goodies inside, I could get a 15% discount!!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! I jumped on that deal like a kid in a bounce house!! Dude, that's the best price I've ever seen for the Big Bite AND the case filled with all the goodies!! The total came to $45.03 (less tax)!! If you have been wanting one of these I suggest you call Monica RIGHT NOW! She had a few but I'm not sure how many. Here's her phone number in case you want one. I'm sure she'd be happy to ship you one too if you want to pay the shipping charges...510/490-5065! SCRAPBOOK U AND MONICA TOTALLY ROCK!!

NEW TOY!!

Well, I finally got my Cricut Expressions!! WOO HOO!! I've wanted this since last Thanksgiving but just didn't want to fork over the money! Well, we were at Wal Mart the other day and guess what??!!?? It was only $289.95!! That's the absolute lowest price I've ever seen so I just had to get it! It did take a week or so of pursuading my hubby to let me get it but I knew all along that he'd say yes. Thanks my love chicken!!! Well when we got to Wal Mart and saw that price I felt even better about getting it! It came with the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge which I really love. So, here's what I've done with it so far...
I made the shamrock by cutting 2 petals off of the flower and then folding it over and adding a hand cut stem. I'm going to make one of these for my son's preschool class too! I just want to cut everything! I'm so excited!

Here's a box I cut out of really thin chipboard then covered in the SU! designer series paper.

2 Quick Cards and a Jar

Here are a couple of cards I made tonight. These are 2 of the quickest cards I've ever made! They both use the same colors, Rose Red, Old Olive and Barely Banana cardstock. Purely Pomegranate Classic Pad, Black Staz On Pad, Old Olive Classic Pad. I used Purely Pomegranage Satin Ribbon on one and Purely Pomegranante Double Stitched Ribbon on the other. I used our Anchored Rub ons from our Spring & Summer Catalog and the Love & Happiness Old Olive Rub ons from the Sale A Bration Mini catalog. (You can get the Love & Happiness Rub Ons for FREE with a $50 order!!) The stamp sets I used are: Baroque Motifs, All Through The Year and Happy Everything. I also used the Slit Punch to create the scallops on the Happy card (my first time trying the scallop thing. I'll definitely be doing this again!! It was SOOOOOOOOOO EASY PEASY STAMPIN' BREEZY!!) I also used the Horizontal Punch to thread the ribbon through the top of the It's the Little Things card. Ok, I hope you like them and try the scallop/slit punch thingy, it's way too cool to pass up! Have a great weekend and thanks again for stopping by to see me. Huge hugs and happiness to you and your loved ones!

Oh, I almost forgot this funky little jar. I was playing with the rub ons and thought I'd try some glass. I'm still new at rub ons so it isn't perfect. That's why I'll be keeping this little mistake. It came out ok but I really don't like the little halos you get from rub ons. Way easier than stamping on glass though! I'll probably put a little tea light in there just for fun.

So Full of Love

Ok, as promissed, here's the board book I made at a class at Scrapbook U ::: "The Best Little Store Around" :: Fremont CA, my local scrapbook store. Our instructor was Amber. If you haven't had a chance to take one of Amber's classes, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??!!?? She's one of the best teachers around and I promise you'll love her work! Ok, enough talking, here's what you're here for...the pictures!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. It really means a lot to me that you're here!
