Spring Violets

Well, now that spring is officially here I thought I'd make some flowers. I've always liked the beautiful, vibrant colors of violets and when I saw a picture of a project made with this technique, I knew I had to try it. It was Sage Kimble's project that I had seen that made me want to try this technique. You can see Sage's project here.

To make these flowers I used our butterfly punch and watercolor cardstock. Punch out 2 butterflies. Color the centers with Summer Sun Marker and the outside with Lovely Lilac. Don't completely color the cardstock with your markers. Just scribble along edge and the centers then use the Aqua Pen to watercolor and blend. It's that simple. I do recommend water coloring the centers then water coloring the edges last. Layer the butterflies, connect with a brad (I used black) and glue to your card.

To make the oval and scallop oval layers I used my Colluzzle for the Summer Sun and then cut a strip of Lovely Lilac and scalloped the edge with the Scallop Edge punch. Cut snips into the scallop strip (the bottom edge, not the scallop edge) and lay it on to the back edge of the Summer Sun layer. Adhere with our sticky strip to get a good hold.
Pretty easy card and I really enjoyed water coloring the violets. I hope you give it a try.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me today and I hope you're enjoying our beautiful spring weather.

Have a wonderful day!

Tin Flower Candle Holder

Here's a tin candle holder I made using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the Stampin' Up! Flower Folds Die!! This is made with roof flashing from a hardware store. I got a 6"x50' roll for $17.00!! How excited I was when I saw they had it in the 6" width!!! That's the exact size to fit all of our dies and fit in the Big Shot without having to cut it!! I only had to cut the length!! WOO HOO!!! Anyway, I got this idea from France aka Frenchie. No she's not from France, that's her name and she's from French Canada now living in Wyoming. She has an awesome video on her blog that explains exactly how to make this totally adorable candle holder!! Go check it out!

Thanks for visiting me and I hope your having a wonderful day!

Fabric Flower Headband

Happy Friday!!
Today I wanted to create a flower headband for my niece. So, I got out my Scallop Circle Die (#113468 - $19.95) and cut some cute pink, white and brown fabric. I cut 6 scallop circles, sewed them together, sewed on a couple of Sherbet Designer Buttons (#116312) to the smallest flower from the Flower Folds Die (#115970 - $42.95) then sewed that on to the center of all the scallop circles and then sewed it on to the headband. The headband is just a "slice" of a pair of little girl tights. I think it turned out so cute. I can't wait to see it on my beautiful baby niece.

Thanks for coming to see me today.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Wednesday. No I'm not MAD but I do have a MAD Challenge for you. Deann Oliver has challenged all of us paper crafters to use what we've made to Make A Difference! Make A Difference in someone's life by sending a handmade card or gift every day of the month of February. What a fantastic idea I thought to my self. I make hundreds of cards and have really been bad about sending them out. SOOOOO, I have chosen some of the cards I've made to send to some friends this month. I hope you are up to the challenge and do the same. Think of the smile you will put on someone's face when they receive your special greeting.

Thank you for coming to see me today. You have put a smile on my face by doing so. :0)

Have a wonderful day!

Demo Meeting Projects

We finally had our Demonstrator Christmas party last night. It was a blast. We stamped, we ate, we drank, we laughed and we just had a wonderful time visiting!! Here are the projects we made.

These are the totally cute cards Edra brought:
Make & Take Designed by Edra Jandro
Swap Made by Edra JandroThis is cutie patootie Rosie Gonzalez. She brought all the fabric and the instructions to make this absolutely fabulous fabric flower pin!! OMG... this is soooooooooooooooo easy to make. Click this link to watch the instructional video: http://www.youtube.com/justasip#p/u/3/8grlYIX5N5Y

This is how it would look on a sweater or coat. The fabric Rosie chose matched my purse perfectly so here's Rosie modeling the fabric flower pin on my purse. Isn't it so stinkin' cute??!!Here's a picture of the large pin as seen above, with another one I made using a smaller fabric flower. This pin was created using our Big Shot and the Bigz XL Flower Folds Die.

This was my swap card.And...this was my make & take card. I got the idea for this card from a card I saw on Ilina Crouse's blog. You can see her card here: http://ilinacrouse.blogspot.com/2010/01/and-yet-more-cards-with-scraps-for-etsy.html Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit today. Thanks for stopping by!
