A Bikini for my Sister

My Mom and Sis came over today and we went to pick up my Sister's wedding dress. OH MY GOODNESS...this has to be the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen. When my Sister tried it on last October, all they had was a champagne color dress. It looked spectacular then but she wanted white so they ordered one for her. It's been at the store for about a week now and let me tell you, it was the hardest thing to not go and see it. But, I wanted to wait so I could see it for the first time on my Sis. Well, it was worth the wait. She looked absolutely gorgeous! Now, my Sis is about 5' 7" tall and she's totally skinny. The whole time she was saying I need to loose this blubber here and this blubber there. My Mom and I thought she was crazy! She's got the perfect body. The beautiful skin, the perfect skin tone, absolutely no fat! Well, she thought she looked fat in her dress. Ok, not enough to be upset or anything but she wants to lose more weight. She told us that she wants to be able to wear a bikini on her honeymoon in Hawaii. Now, she is crazy...she CAN absolutely wear a bikini! I would kill for her body! So, that brings us to the card I made her. I hope it makes her smile because I love her so very much and I just want her to know that I think she is perfect just the way she is!. I hope you all have a wonderful day or evening, depending on when you are reading this, and please let your loved ones know that they are perfect just the way they are! Hugs and happiness to you all!

First Cuttlebug Card

Well, I did it...I finally went out and got the Cuttlebug. Let me tell you, I am lovin' it! I got a few of the embossing folders and only one set of die cuts. I think I'll be using it primarily for embossing and for cutting with my Sizzix dies. The Sizzix dies are bigger and the Cuttlebug dies seem to all be pretty small for my taste. The Cuttlebug takes the Sizzix Bigz dies perfect as well as their embossing templates. It also works with the Fiskars Embossing templates only the impression varies a little. Some of the Fiskars templates aren't etched as deep as the Cuttlebug folders and the Sizzix embossing templates are right in between those two. So, The Cuttlebug embossing folders are the best. Then the Sizzix come in second and the Fiskars are third. If I can figure out how to get a deeper embossed look I will let you know. I'm still playing around with this new toy. Anyway, here's my very first Cuttlebug Card. If you have any questions, just let me know. Also, if you know of any special techniques for the Cuttlebug, I'd love to know those too. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great evening!

Easter Banner

Here's an Easter banner I made for my son's preschool class. I used Stampin' Up! card stock for the background and some dollar spot papers from Target for the letters, eggs and embellishments. I also used the Scallop, 5 Petal Flower and 1/2 " punches. The card stock colors are Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Barely Banana. And I used our Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon to tie it all together. I hope you like it and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter with Family and Friends! Lorraine

Birthday Magnet

This is a birthday card I made my upline Colleen Becker. The B is actually a chipboard magnet for her fridge. I used my Cricut to cut the chipboard B and then a piece of Lovely Lilac to cover it. Then I used the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to attach the chipboard and Lovely Lilac then covered that with the Tombow and added the Orchid Fine Cosmo Stampin' Glitter to that. The background cardstock is Elegant Eggplant and Certainly Celery. The ribbon is retired from SU! I think I'll be making one of these for my fridge too! It will be a R though. :0)

A bracelet and a Teacher Thank You

This is a copy of a bracelet I saw in my Paper Crafts magazine. I used these brads from Making Memories and a piece of Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon from Stampin' Up! Now it's a little rough still. I am going to get real jewelry findings to attach to the bracelet for a more professional look. Then I will sew another piece of ribbon to the back of this one so the brad prongs don't stick me. What a cool idea, don't you think? I think these would be so cute on a little girl. This card is what I came up with the other day while playing around with my stuff. I will be giving this to my son's teacher for teacher appreciation day in May. I used all Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise noted:
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Sage Shadow
Designer Series Paper: Flowers for You
Rub Ons: Love & Happiness (Sale a bration) and Eastern Elegance
Pretties Kit Flowers with Regal Rose Classic Ink on medium flower
Brad from Making Memories

Cards from Friends

Here are a couple of cards I received from some friends. The first one is from my good friend Julie Beck. She sent me this card along with her payment for stamp camp. Now get this, Julie lives in COLORADO!! Yes, she flew in for the weekend to spend time with her friend Kim and they both came to stamp camp! What a wonderful treat it was to spend the day with them both! Thanks so much Jules, I miss you chickie!
This pretty card came from my Secret Sister!! She was my SS from Lorie Ames Live-Love-Laugh-Create Secret Sister swap earlier this year. She had a fire in her home and couldn't send anything during the swap so she sent me this card last week!! What a super special surprise! Thank you so much my SS! I can't wait to find out who you are.
