Saturday Night Card Crafting

I really had the bug to make some cards tonight. Do you ever get in those moods where you just want to sit at your craft table and just create?? That was my mood tonight. My DS fell asleep at 8:00 and my DH went to the gym so that meant I had some "me" time. Making cards is what I love to do when I have this kind of time. I can't clean the house cuz' my DS is sleeping and I have to be quiet so what better to do than make stuff??!!?? Anyway, here's what I came up with during my quiet time. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit. I hope you enjoy what I have to show you tonight.

On the first 3 cards I used some new Hero Arts stamps I bought at my LSS. I've had the new Hero Arts catalog for a while now and absolutely love most of the samples in there so I finally broke down and bought some of their stamps.
This set is called Dots and Lines. I also used the SU! set called One of A Kind. I used some old SU! DSP for the background and Regal Rose, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise Card Stock. Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black Classic Pads. The ribbon is the SU! Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon and I finished it off with the Signo Gel White pen to make a few extra white dots on the background paper. This paper already has some white dots but I needed more. This card was made with the Hero Arts Flourish Lily stamp and SU!'s Sincere Salutations stamp set. The card stock is Only Orange, Real Red and Whisper White. I colored the Lily with Real Red, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Glorious Green and Green Galore Stampin' Write Markers. The flower outline and sentiment are stamped with the Basic Black Classic pad. The ribbon is SU!'s Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain and the rhinestones are some Swarovski Crystals I got at Michael's. I just used the markers to blend each color. I started with the Real Red then blended with the Only Orange and Summer Sun. I did the same with the Glorious Green and Green Galore markers. This card uses another Hero Arts stamp called Sketchbook Flowers. I also used the sentiment from SU!'s Sweet Dreams set. Card stock is Lovely Lilac, Regal Rose and Whisper White. I colored the flowers & stamped ribbon with Pink Passion, Regal Rose, Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Almost Amethyst, Green Galore and Glorious Green. The sentiment was stamped using Lovely Lilac and the outline of the flower was stamped with the Basic Black Classic Pads. I used SU's Bold Brights buttons and some white hemp I had laying around. I blended the colors with the markers.
This last one has very little stamping. The only stamping is on the topiary pots using the small flourish stamp in the Stampin' Up! Priceless set with the Going Grey Classic Pad. Card stock used is Ballet Blue, Wild Wasabi, Green Galore, Certainly Celery, Only Orange, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Real Red, Creamy Caramel and Whisper White. I wrote the Welcome sentiment with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I used the Vintage Antique Brass Brads from SU! and I also used the Boho Blossoms, Rectangle, 1/8" and 1/16" Circle punches. The topiary pots are also punched with a retired punch and I can't think of the name of it right now.

Wu Family Bill Organizer

Here's a bill organizer I made for a friend. She requested I use Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper. I think it turned out really cute. I love this paper. This is made the exact same way as the 12 pocket organizer except I sealed the bottom of each month pocket on the inside bottom after it was folded in half at the 6" mark so she can use the top pockets also. Anyway, here it is. Have a wonderful day!

12 Pocket Card Organizer/To Go Kit

Well, I finally got a chance to make one of these totally awesome card organizers!! I got the idea from Patty Bennett . Go check her blog for pictures of MORE of these awesome organizers!

I will be offering this as a "To Go Kit". All you need to do is let me know the Designer Series Paper you would like me to use and I will assemble the organizer and send it to you. What is included in this "To Go Kit"? You will select your choice of Stampin' Up! Designer Series paper and I will assemble and bind your project using that paper. I will also include the printed January - December pages for you to add to your pockets, and the title sheet for you to add to your cover if you wish. The title sheet will be a little more generic with black printing for your organizer so that you can personalize it any way you choose. If you would like your title sheet customized to match your organizer (like mine does) just add $2 to your payment and I will customize the color of the print to match your DSP. I will also include the cardstock mat to coordinate with the color of your Designer Series Paper. Your project will be shipped in a Priority Box so that the rings will not get crushed. The Title Sheet and calendars will NOT be attached to the organizer just in case you want to stamp them before they are attached.

The cost is $20 plus $4.80 for Priority Shipping. You can pay by PayPal using my email address: ltrain26@aol.com. Remember to leave your information when you use PayPal. Your name, address, paper selection and a phone number. You can also pay using your Discover Card, Master Card or Visa Card by emailing me or calling me with your information: 510/573-7693. I will also accept checks but we will need to wait for the check to clear before I send out the package. Your order will be shipped immediately after I receive the order for the Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I will send you an email to let you know exactly when your order ships.

So check the catalog and mini catalog NOW! (pages 168, 169, 170, and 171 in the Spring Summer Catalog, or pg 8 or 16 in the Occasions Mini).

I hope you like this new organizer as much as I do. I am so excited to start using it!!

My Sister also suggested that it can be used for bill paying. Just slide your bill in the month pocket it's due and when paid write the name of the company on the date it was paid with the amount paid. Then you can slip the paid bill into the larger pocket at the top of the organizer. You would need to seal the bottom of that pocket first but a strip of Sticky Tape or some SNAIL should do the trick! What a great idea Sis and then you can file the book with your tax paperwork at the end of the year. This would also be great for us as a Demonstrator to keep track of what we have bought throughout the year (filing our receipts in the pockets) and then also file it with our taxes. Everything will be all in one place and ready to go to the accountant when you file your taxes!

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help you in any way I can.
Have a great week and thanks for coming by to see me!

This organizer uses Spring Fling Designer Series Paper.

14 Cards - 1 Sheet of DSP & Some BLOG CANDY!

I hope you can handle one more post tonight. :0) This is a set of cards I made using 1 sheet of DSP and some cardstock. I started out casing a card from the Spring Summer Collection and then it just snowballed! I just couldn't stop making cards with this paper. I didn't want to put it down. Oh, and let me tell you, I made ALL of these cards in less than 2 hours! Yep, 14 cards in less than 2 hours! WOO HOO! So, there you have it. My DSP OSW!! (that's Designer Series Paper One Sheet Wonder...tee hee) Now, on to the blog candy...I could make this really hard OR just a little fun. Ok, ok, I'll go with the fun...If you can tell me what page in the SU! Spring Summer Cattty I cased the "You are one of a kind" card I will send you a special little treat. See below for the picture of the blog candy. If anything, it will get you to open up your catty and who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to stamp. If I get multiple correct winners I will choose one name out of a basket. I still have to use the basket because I just can't figure out that Random.org thing just yet. DUH! I can't wait to see who gets it first. Have fun!

Ok, here's a hint: It's not the card on page 82. I can see how you would think that but when you see the actual card I cased you will know it right away. Also, this card is not in the Index and Supplies section. You can enter as many times as you would like as long as it's not every page...LOL Good luck to you all. I will choose a winner on Wednesday, 5/21.

More Mini Pocket Books

I made a couple more of these pocket books for Mother's day gifts for my Mom and MIL. I just love how easy these little books go together. They are the quickest little things ever. If you check my earlier post you'll find a link to the blog on how to make these. I say, "give it a try" it's so worth it. I filled these with pictures of all the grandkids (they hold 10 pics or 20 if you use both sides of each tag) and my Mom and MIL thought they were the best gift ever. I also got both of them digital photo frames and filled them with pictures but they seemed to like these little books even better. :0) All supplies used are from Stampin' Up! except for the tags. I used my Cricut for the tags. If you make one or some of these I'd love to see them. Leave a comment here with a link to your pictures. The first one uses Cerise DSP from SU! and Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock and ribbon. I also used the large and small Star Punches and the Crop A Dile.

This book is made with the Porcelain Prints DSP and Whisper White, Blue Bayou, Bashful Blue, River Rock and Barely Banana cardstock. The ribbon is Blue Bayou Double Stitched Grosgrain, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Mellow Moss Taffeta. I also used the 5 Petal Flower and the Boho Blossoms Punch and the Crop A Dile.
