Holiday Boutique Set Up

I was a vendor at a Holiday Boutique last weekend and I just wanted to show you how I set up my displays.
This is Edra Jandro. You've seen some of her wonderful artwork here but I wanted you to finally see who she is. She is a great friend and a wonder SU! downline! We had a lot of fun.

All in the Family Campaign Update November 19, 2007

Less than two weeks left in the All in the Family campaign, and our sincere thanks go out to those of you who are working to make this charitable effort a success! As of November 19, at 9:00 AM (MT), Stampin' Up! demonstrators worldwide have sold over 3100 All in the Family stamp sets. All of the proceeds that Stampin' Up! receives from the All in the Family campaign will go directly into a fund dedicated to helping Dave's family.

Dave Abbott, Stampin' Up!'s Australia general manager, passed away on Thursday, October 18. His untimely passing left behind his wife and three small children. While we understand that no amount of money can compensate his family for their loss, we at Stampin' Up! also understand that Dave's unique and personal contributions in Australia have helped make Stampin' Up! what it is. Dave was one of our own, and we are committed to doing what can be done to support his family through their loss.

We know what Stampin' Up! demonstrators can do when they put their minds to it, and for the remainder of this campaign, we ask you to put your minds and your hearts into making a difference in the lives of Dave's family. For the remainder of November, please do all you can to make the All in the Family campaign a success.

SU! Monthly Meeting Make 'N Takes

These are the make n' takes we did at our monthly Stampin' Up! meeting. As usual we had a lot of fun hanging out and stamping!

This is the outside of a Gift Card holder. You can make this a little purse if you add some ribbon to the top. It's so cute and so easy to make (once you make the first one...:0)) This is the inside of the gift card holder. You would put your gift card right there on the Sage Shadow piece that has the slits cut out. Then the little card with the tab slides into the pocket at the bottom. This was an extra card that Lori made for everyone. This is a Gift Card holder. It's the envelope technique. The envelope is folded in half, you open it up, seal half of the envelope and place the gift card in the other side. If you need more info just let me know.

This is also a Gift Card holder. We just didn't have cards to put in the pocket so Valerie gave us some candy. Wasn't that nice!?! Who doesn't love chocolate??? YUMMY!This is the make 'n take I brought.
Thanks for checking in and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Linda Peterson's Thank You Card

First of all, let me say I am sorry for not posting for a few days. It's been really crazy around here lately. I've been getting ready for my Holiday Boutique (you can read all about this on an earlier post) so I'll have lots to share from that next week. I will be posting a few things later tonight too since I have my Upline meeting tonight and we always have some great projects in store. For now, I've got a little treat for you from Linda Peterson. Remember her, she won my blog candy a while back. Well, she sent me this beautiful thank you card AND she used my favorite set, Doodle This!! I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I'll be back later to share what we make at my meeting!! Thanks for stopping by!

Wreath Card and Snowflake Necklace

This card was inspired by a wreath project I saw in the Michael's Imagine magazine. It's just strips of paper glued to a paper ring. Then I punched a snowflake out of a piece of Whisper White card stock that I had embossed with our Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. The little "snowflakes" on the wreath are punched using the Spring Flower Bouquet punch. The corners are punched with the Photo Corner Punch. The blue is our Ballet Blue card stock. It would look good with our green and red using one of the other flowers as poinsettias from the same Spring Flower Bouquet punch. Hope you're having a great week! Thanks for checking in!!
I was just playing around with these flat backed glass stones and thought this might make a pretty necklace. What do you think? It's made with the Snowflake Spot stamp set, gold embossing powder and black card stock. The fitting is glued to the glass stone and it hangs on a velvet necklace. It really looks pretty on and much prettier in person. I've had lots of nice comments while wearing it. I hope you like it.

Glass Ornaments & Magnets

These are some ornaments and magnets (pink) that I made for the upcoming Holiday Boutique I will be having. I used the large, flat backed, glass stones and the All Through The Year stamp set with Ballet Blue card stock (Pink Passion for the magnets), Detail White embossing powder, White craft pad, Crystal Effects and White Grosgrain Ribbon and the 1 1/4 Circle Punch. Please let me know what you think of these. I need some feedback so I know if I should go ahead and sell these in sets of four at the boutique or not. Thanks a bunch and I hope your weekend is going well!!

Christmas Star

This star was made with the Dashing DSP. I cut 23 3" squares, folded them in half (but don't crease them) diagonally and glued the ends together. Then glue them to a circle cut out of some scrap paper. I used the largest circle on the Coluzzle. Then cut another circle using the third circle in on the Coluzzle and glue that to the top center. I hope this all makes sense. If you have any questions let me know.
Hope you all have a great day!! Happy November!!

Pink & Blue Christmas Cards

Here's a non-traditional color Christmas Card. All images on this card are attached to a transparency sheet. The Pretty In Pink cardstock is inside the Transparency card and attached with the ribbon. I just embossed some scrap Whisper White with the Versamark Pad and Iridescent Ice EP then punched out the Snow Blossoms. I did the same with the tree. For the joy I just used some 2 way glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I also embossed the snowflake O in Joy with Detail White EP.

Here's a little snowman I made with some punches. His body is made with the 1 3/8", 1 1/4 & 1" Circle Punches. His hat is made with the Word Window Punch and the 3/4" Square punch. The berries and leaves are made with the Double Circle punch and some Apple Grosgrain (retired) ribbon I cut to look like leaves. His eyes and buttons are also made with the Double Circle punch. His nose was made with the 3/4" square punch then I just cut off one corner. His mouth is made with the 1" Circle Punch then I moved the punch down a little after the first punch and punched again. His arms are made with the Word Window punch too. I did the same thing as I did for the mouth. The coloring on the Let It Snow stamp is really bad. I'm not a great colorer (is that a word?). I'll probably remove it and start over. I just colored right on the stamp with my Basic Black Marker and omitted the snowman head. Then added a Snow Blossom Punch which is embossed with Iridescent Ice as well as the snowman. I just embossed some scrap Whisper White with the Versamark Pad then punched out the Snow Blossom for the word SNOW.

Catalog Tip

This is what I did with my catalog to help me find things better. I used the Round Tab Punch and labeled them with my P-Touch label maker. I also color coordinated the tabs with the colors in the catalog. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for a little easier. Happy Tuesday!

Happy Circles

This is a card I seriously cased from Carla at Moralia’s Weblog. There's a few subtle differences. I didn't have the background paper Carla used so I made my own with Green Galore, Whisper White and Pretty In Pink Card Stock and the 1" and 1/2" circle punches. I also didn't add the flowers Carla made because I kinda' liked it with just the polk a dot ribbon and didn't want to take away from that. The "happy" stamp is from the Happy Everything set and is embossed with the White Craft pad and Detail White EP. I also didn't really sew all around the edge like Carla. I was too lazy to get out my sewing machine so I used the White Gel pen from Unibal and then punched tiny holes with my paper piercing tool that comes in the Crafter's Took Kit. Well, I loved Carla's version so I hope you like mine. Have a great day!

Halloween Treats

These are the special treats I made for my son's preschool class. Thank you to Korrin Lucca for showing me how to make these little pockets. I used the Creepy Crawly DSP and the Party Punch Hostess set with the Scallop and 1 3/8" Circle Punch and the Basic Black Classic Pad.
I got this idea from someone on the Splitcoaststampers site but cannot remember who it was. If this was you, please let me know because I would really like to give you credit for this. These are pixy sticks wrapped in the Round Tab punch and stamped in Basic Black Classic pad with the Party Punch Hostess Set and tied with our Black Gingham Ribbon. I used the Horizontal Slot punch for the ribbon hole. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Acetate Potpourri Holder

Here's a little potpourri holder I made using just plain old transparencies from Office Max. The size is 8x8. Score around all sides at 2". Cut squares off of all corners. Punch and set eyelets, thread ribbon and you're done. I stamped with white Staz On using the Season of Joy stamp set. The ribbon is SU! Real Red grosgrain and the eyelets are also from SU! Thanks for checking in. Happy stampin'!

Faux Chipboard Coaster Box

Ok, I've had this cold for a week now and have gone through 2 boxes of Puffs tissues. As I was using the last tissue in a box I had an idea! I could make a Faux Chipboard Coaster Box! WOO HOO! I have those coasters everyone is using to make these really cute boxes but just haven't dug them out to use them so I made a fake one! This is the end of my tissue box. You can get 2 out of each box. I just cut off the end, glued on some of our pretty paper, added eyelets on all the corners and tied ribbon through. Quick and easy. The hardest part would be setting those eyelets. You'll need a corner of a table to get inside the box and you'll need the anywhere punch and setter since the Crop A Dile's reach isn't long enough for the bottom holes. Otherwise it's a fun box that will be holding all of my ribbon scraps on my stampin' desk from now on. And, if I get tired of looking at one side I can just turn it around for a different look. I hope you like this idea and what a great way to keep those tissue boxes out of the landfill. Happy stampin' to you all! L

Happy Birthday Cutie Pie

Well, I have 18 birthday cards to send out in October!! I think this is my busiest birthday month of the year. I have already sent out quite a few and this is the latest. I will be making 8 of these cards to send out to the rest of the birthday girls this month. I think it's a pretty and happy card, no pun intended but that was funny...LOL. I think the Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites in our SU! catalog and I'm sure it shows. I use it all the time. I just love the colors and the flowers. I love that it matches our In Colors an some of our other colors as well. Can I tell you that I absolutely LOVE our satin ribbon in the Holiday Mini Collection catalog!!! This ribbon is so luxurious and rich and thick and so soft. I wish I had sheets made out of this ribbon. I want to use it on everything! I don't know why I waited so long to order it. I want to order rolls and rolls so I never run out. I'm hoping that SU! gives it to us in all the 48 colors in January's catalog!!! Or, maybe not since I would be broke buying all that ribbon. Anyway, I hope you like this card and if you get a chance to get this satin ribbon I would jump on it!! Remember, it's only available until the end of November so stock up if you can!! At only .66 cents a yard you can't beat it. I've seen satin ribbon selling for up to .95 cents a yard and it's not even as thick as this and you can't buy the whole spool, you can only get it by the yard. Our spools are 15 yards for only $9.95. You'll notice the difference as soon as you are holding it in your hand. The spool is so heavy compared to most other ribbon. Ok, I'm done "selling" you on this ribbon. I just really like it. Thank you for listening to me rant about my love affair with ribbon and for your continued friendships through my blog. I hope you are enjoying reading and looking at all my stuff as much as I am enjoying making it and sharing it with you. Have a great evening or day depending on where you are. L

SU! Group Meeting

Here are the cards we all made at our Stampin' Up! Meeting Monday night. Mine is the circle card on a earlier post so I didn't repeat it here. At this meeting we are working on a Technique Album. Each month we are to take a technique and design a make n take for the group to do.

This design was from Debbie Colbacchini-Bleaching Technique:
Soak a piece of felt or folded paper towel with bleach. Use as an ink pad and stamp on colored cardstock. Watch as the bleach removes color leaving a beautiful faded image.
This design is from Katja Pastor-Faux Diamond Dust Technique:
Stamp a piece of cardstock. Cover entire piece with a generous layer of Versamark ink. Cover with iridescent ice embossing powder. Remove excess and heat. This design was from Gina Cardera-Pulled Pastels Technique:
Rub Stampin’ Pastels all over a dark piece of cardstock using a cotton ball. Ink a stamp with the Versamark pad and stamp onto the chalked cardstock. The stamp will “pull” off the chalk, leaving a negative image. This works best with a bold image. This card was also designed by Gina Cardera-Poppin' Pastels Technique:
Stamp image on cardstock with Versamark, white Craft or vanilla Craft ink. Rub cotton ball into pastels and then pounce over image to see the colors pop.

This was designed by Pat Zahn-Mirror Image Technique: Select a large shadow stamp such as the rectangle from Great Shapes. Ink the stamp you wish to mirror and stamp it onto the clean shape stamp. Stamp the shape stamp onto the cardstock for a backwards image. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it next to the backward image using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the images exactly. This was designed by Ana Garcia-Wood Grain Technique:Cut a stampin’ sponge into quarters. Ink the pointed edge with Vanilla Craft (pigment) Ink. Lightly brush in one direction along the cardstock. Repeat with Close to Cocoa Craft Ink. Mask sections or use markers to simulate boards/nails if desired. Try different colors of cardstock, ink. This was designed by Jennifer Wu-Soot Stamping Technique:

Optional first step: Using the brayer, cover glossy cardstock with classic ink of any or assorted colors. Next, hold the cardstock against the flame of a lit candle, moving quickly, until it is covered with soot. Press stamps onto the soot to expose the white or colored cardstock image. Spray piece with acrylic sealer. This was designed by Lanette Ibarra-Marbles Technique:
Place several marbles in a plastic stamp case. Add a few drops of coordinating ink refills. Roll marbles. Attach cardstock with Hermafix transfer to the lid of the case. Close lid, flip and swirl.
