I’ve always wanted to be a graphic designer. In fact, my aunt had one of those original Macintosh computers with the itty bitty screens and when we’d visit, she’d let me use it. It had this awesome program that would let you design cards. It was pretty cutting edge back then. Obviously, the time spent in my aunt’s home office foreshadowed my professional choices as an adult.

My favorite part about design is typography. I adore type. There’s just something inherently beautiful about letterforms and what happens when you stack them to create different shapes and combine them to say different things. So when I was asked a few weeks ago to create some artwork for our first-ever photopolymer stamp set, I jumped at the chance to do something that would speak to my typography love. Can I get a holla?! Additionally, I wanted to focus on the cool benefits of photopolymer stamps (but we’ll get into that in just minute).

So without further adieu, let me introduce you to the Designer Typeset Stamp Set. It’s based around a really great san serif font that will work well on just about any project. And then there are embellishments and shapes to take whatever you want to say to the next level. The possibilities are seriously endless.

I’ll admit, once I started playing around with the stamp set, I had a hard time stopping. The mess that has taken up residence in my craft room attests to this fact. So many witty one-liners, so little time.




But before I get too carried away, let’s get to talking about the benefits of photopolymer stamps. For those who are unfamiliar, let me point out a couple of things I personally find really cool.

First, they’re completely clear, making it oh-so-easy to stamp exactly where you want. They come unmounted, on an acetate sheet, and temporarily adhere to our clear blocks. Awesome!


Second, they are pliable. Want your arrow to shoot a certain way? No problem! Want your banner to have the perfect sag? Easy peasy! Being able to play with the shape gives you even more creative freedom.

Boxed Card Gift Set

I got the idea for this set from another fabulous stamper but I cannot find my original picture. As soon as I find it I will give the proper credit to the person that inspired me.
This is a boxed card gift set I created for my Sister and one for my son's teacher. I made 2 of each color so they would each have 10 cards.
Then I created the box to hold them. So sorry I forgot to write down the dimensions but all you need to do is hold your 10 cards and envelopes together and measure the thickness. The boxes are 2 pieces. I used 12x12 cardstock and made score lines for the sides, top and bottom. Then repeated the process for the back piece adding 4 inches so the top would fold over. I know this probably doesn't make sense and I'm sorry. I will try to recreate them and get all the dimensions for you later.
The cards are pretty simple but have such an impact with the pretty, bright colors and their initials on each.
The box was made using the awesome SU! Simply Scored Scoring Tool. It really makes life easy when you have one of these.
The name plates were cut with the Sizzlits Labels Collection Framelits in 3 layers of the 6.
The ribbon is our fantastic 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Certainly Celery and Crumb Cake.

I used the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper and Crumb Cake Cardstock for the base. Then used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist cardstock for the monogram labels layered on Soft Suede cardstock.

I also stamped the background in Soft Suede (stamped off once) using the Mixed Bunch stamp set.

Valentine Row of Hearts

Here's a quick and easy Valentine you could make in minutes.
Just punch 5 hearts (i used a retired punch) out of Real Red cardstock. Then punch 1 more large heart and 2 smaller hearts out of our Red Glimmer Paper and glue them on a card! I used MDS to add the sentiment to a Whisper White card base. Grab some cute ribbon, this was in my stash, and tie a knot. Add dimensionals to the Red Glimmer paper hearts. Done!
Simple but pretty cute dontcha' think?

My Digital Studio Cards

I mean we're talking 15 years and I love it BUT, I just got the new digital program from SU! called My Digital 2+ and I'm just blown away at how awesome it is! I can create, import, design, and just have fun with this new program! Ok, so, I've been playing with my new MDS2+ and here's what I've created so far...
This card is a total CASE of a card by Catherine Pooler. Yes, it is! Catherine made this card with her stamps, cardstock, ink and paper. I created the same card (with a few changes) in My Digital Studio!!! Is that cool or what?? Check out Catherine's card and then look at mine, please let me know what you think. Does my card look like a digital card? I think it looks pretty 2 dimensional myself. :0)

Now, check out the card below. I started from scratch. I mean, I just opened my MDS and started playing with papers, cardstock and stamps. After I got my base card done I just started adding stamps, ribbon, pearls, buttons and a brad! I just love this new digital program. Let me tell you how easy it is. My son (9 years old) helped me with this card. He actually sat with me and started telling me what the card needed and what to take away. He told me to resize things, move things, add things and delete things. When we were done with this card he made his very own card, all by himself!!! He watched me create this card then he sat down and made his own!! Come on, if a 9 year old boy can use this program and enjoy it I think anyone would love to have it! I will share his card as soon as I take a pic of it. He's so proud of it!

Hershey Kiss Valentine

How cute is this??!! I just love this idea!! I got it from Donna Schafer's blog. What a simple way to make Hershey Kisses...Use your Blossom Builder Punch! Absolutely amazing. So, I copied her card, changed it up a bit and voila! A Hershey Kiss Card!

I used my MDS to create the "Happy Valentine's Day" and the little tags on the kisses. 
The color is, of course, Real Red and Whisper White.
I had to use the Silver Glimmer Paper, I LOVE sparkle!
The tags are vellum and glued to the back of the kisses so you don't see the glue!
I also added a little 3/8" Taffeta Real Red Ribbon.
The scallop was created with our awesome Scallop Edge Border Punch!
Oh, and I used our 1" Square Punch (just the corner) to punch out the vellum flags.
Oh, I can't forget the Heart Embossing Folder from the Adorning Accents Folders collection.

I'm so happy with how this turned out! Thank you Donna!!
