From Our Home To Yours - Christmas Window

Here's another Christmas card I made. I just love this Hostess set called Window Dressing. There are so many possibilities with this set and it can be used for any holiday or occasion. It comes with images that can be used for Halloween, Fall, Winter, Christmas and Spring and it has a little girl face, a little cat and a little bird but you can use any image from any stamp set for the window. The possibilities are endless. It's such a versatile set and I wish it would be available in the New 2009 Spring Catalog but as we all know Hostess sets are here for a limited time. I'm so glad I got this set before it's retirement at the end of the month and I'm sure I'll be using it all year long.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Busy, Busy, Busy

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
I hope this wonderful season finds you healthy, happy and surrounded by those you love.
I have been away for a while and I have to apologize to all of you. Things just got really busy right around Halloween and I just haven't had time to post anything. I have so much to share with you and will try my best to show you over the next couple of days.

Here are some Christmas cards I made a while back.

Happy Haunting Halloween

Happy Halloween!! Here are a few cards I made to celebrate the haunting season. The two black cat cards are for my son's teachers. The other two are just for fun. I used the Coluzzle oval template to create the cats and the other two are made using the Top Notes Big Shot Die. I got the oval cat idea from Lydia B. Fiedler at Understand Blue. She's got a great blog you really need to check out. Thanks Lydia!
I hope you all have a safe and spooktacular Halloween!

Christmas Tree Card

I wanted to try to make some kind of Christmas Tree card and this is what I came up with. I used the Scallop Edge Punch for the edges but if you have the Big Shot with the Pennant Die it would be much easier. I first cut a regular sized card then cut it in a triangle shape. Then with the Scallop Edge punch I punched the angle side of the card one side at a time. Then I cut some Bella Rose DSP, glued it to the top of the card and punched that. Then I cut another piece of the Bella Rose DSP and glued it to the inside of the card and punched each side again. Then I decorated the inside and outside with the Join In The Cheer Die for the words and the Snowflake Punch for the snowflakes and the 1/2" Circle punch for a few snow balls. The swirlies on the inside are made using the 1 3/4" Circle punch then you just cut around and around in to the center. I did add some Dazzling Diamonds and Chunky Glitter to the snowflakes on the outside.
Anyway, here's the card.
Thanks again for stopping by to see me.

Snow Owl

Is it Harry Potter's Owl or is it just a beautiful snow owl? You decide. :0) I think these are the most beautiful birds and I tried to create one with cardstock. It isn't as beautiful as the real thing but it's a cute version. I hope you like it. It's made with Whisper White, Going Gray and Black Cardstock. The branches were stamped using the Eastern Blooms branch but not the flowers. I used my black Stampin' Write Marker to fill in the spaces where the flowers were. Then I used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on top of the branches to create glistening snow. The ribbon was from my stash.

Thanks for coming by to see me today!

A couple of Wise Old Owls...

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are enjoying your last day of the weekend and doing something nice and relaxing. My son had a birthday party to go to so we were out and about most of the day. It was a great party and we had a lot of fun. Now we're home just relaxing for a while so I thought I'd get in a quick post.

I learned how to make these cute little owls at Patty Bennett's meeting. Ellen McCarthy shared how to make these cute little owls, a turkey, a birthday cake and a cute cupcake all with Stampin' Up! punches. Today I have the owls to show you. I have been seeing these owls all over the place lately and was so excited to learn how to make one. If you would like the directions just shoot me an email and I'll send them to you. All supplies are listed below the pictures. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by to see me!

Some Decorated Pails

Well, I've had these pails for months now. I just couldn't think of anything to do with them until now. Thanks to Patty Bennett I finally did it! I went to Patty Bennett's downline meeting last Saturday and saw the pails she made and that was it!! I had to make some for myself. You can see Patty's pails here: Patty's Stamping Spot: My Snowflake Die Cut Project, & the Big Shot is NOW Ava and here: Patty's Stamping Spot: Fun Tins!
Stay tuned for more posts...I've got the card I made for our trades at the meeting plus all the other fabulous trades I received!!

3-D Flower Basket Card

When I first saw the new Baskets and Blooms Die for our new Big Shot I immediately thought of this card. Of course you can make the 3-D basket itself with lots of goodies inside but I wanted to incorporate this die cut into a card. It was very easy to create. Before gluing the basket down to your card base cut the bottom die in half and adhere it to one side of the basket. Then glue the sides down to the card base. I used the long curved pieces to create the stems of the flowers and the "ribbon" on the hat which were cut with the same die. The complete recipe is below the pictures. I hope you like this card and if you would like to recreate it and have any questions just let me know.

Have a wonderful day!

Lorraine

15 Year Anniversary and a little rant about Kindergarten homework...

This is the card I made for the most special person in my life...my Husband of 15 years!! Yep, that's right, 15 years. It doesn't feel like 15 years though. I feel like it was just last year that we got married. I can remember it like it was yesterday. It was the most awesome day ever! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I love you my Husband! Just in case you can't read the sentiment here's what it says:
the time to be happy is now. the place to be happy is here. WITH YOU!

Have a wonderful week and thanks again for hanging in there with me and my sporadic posts! I'll try to be better. We are just getting in the routine of school. Kindergarten that is. We had homework in preschool but this year is a lot different. We are getting quite a bit and for those of you that have son's in Kindergarten, I hope you don't know the work it is to get your child to color like I know. My son absolutely hates to color. I know hate is a strong word but this little man just does not like any aspect of coloring. That is, with color crayons. Now give him one of my Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers and he goes to town!! LOL! It's just the crayon thing. I don't understand it but we are working through it and we will prevail!! :0) Have you ever heard of 5 pages of homework in Kindergarten? Well, normally it's 3 but today we had 5!! Yes, 5! It's ok though. I love sitting with him while he does his work. I just love watching his little hands write and color. Ok, enough of that. Just know that I appreciate your sticking with me!

Birthday RAK's!!!!

Well, first of all I would like to say a SPECIAL THANK YOU to all of you that sent me a special Birthday email or phone call. They all meant so very much to me and I appreciate you taking the time to send them and to call!

Next...I would like to send a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to those of you that sent me your beautiful hand made creations!! Let me just say that they just made my birthday so very special.

I sincerely appreciate all of your friendships and am so very thankful for you.

Here is a card I received from Edra Jandro. She is a wonderful friend and I am so thankful she is a part of my life! Just look at the detail on this card. The Filigree brad, the chipboard star, the scallops, the DSP!! I love everything about this card!! Edra, you are so incredibly talented. Thank you for sharing your talent with me!

This next card AND special treats are from a very special friend I met online. Lorie Ames! She is so full of inspiration and creativity. If you get a chance, you should definitely check out Lorie's blog . She's got some incredible projects for you to see. Just check out this card!! This birthday bella is too darn cute. And she looks just like me!! HA HA HA I wish I was that thin!! :0) But seriously, look at the close up picture...there's sparkle EVERYWHERE on this card. The balloons, the party hat, the cupcake, her pants and EVEN her shoes have sparkle!! I just LOVE anything that sparkles!! Yes, I am a glitter girl, I've always got glitter on my face! :0) Thank you so much Lorie!

And...here's the one my most crafty Mother-In-Law sent me. Now you don't know crafting until you meet my MIL!! This incredible lady is the absolute craftiest person I know. From decorating every inch of her home to making every gift, card or note the most special. She always makes sure the presentation is just as wonderful as the gift inside. Just look at this card. Every piece of this card is paper pieced!! I know you can't see the shimmer of the gold ribbon and the gold on the basket but in real life this card just shines!! Thanks "Nana" for always remembering me on my special day!

September Downline Meeting Make & Takes

Here are the cards we made at our September downline meeting. We had a great time hanging out and stamping. There were 4 of us at this meeting. I'm hoping for more attendance at future meetings so, if you're one of my downline ladies, I hope you can join us next month!
I hope you enjoy these wonderful cards. These ladies are amazing and I look forward to each meeting to see what everyone comes up with.
Have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by to visit me!
Lorraine

Edit to Add: I totally forgot to let you know that I case'd this card from Kristina Werner. I did use different supplies and her's is a gift card holder but I wanted to be sure I gave Kristina credit for the design.
